The Sales Representative will support the operations of Kaleidoscope Paints Limited (KPL) in Tobago, with primary responsibility for driving sales performance and achieving accounts receivable targets.
Job Summary
The Sales Representative will support the operations of Kaleidoscope Paints Limited (KPL) in Tobago, with primary responsibility for driving sales performance and achieving accounts receivable targets. The incumbent will be required to identify and develop new business opportunities via Hardware stores, New Construction Projects and networking with THA on projects, while strengthening and expanding relationships with existing customers to support sustained business growth. He/she will also be responsible for planning and executing sales growth strategies for Paints and Adhesives, implementing marketing and promotional initiatives, maintaining merchandising excellence at the retail level, and conducting market research with accurate and timely reporting. Strict adherence to all company policies, systems, and procedures is required in the execution of duties.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
1. Product Portfolio Management
- Drive revenue growth of the decorative paint and adhesives range through effective management of the assigned distributor and retail network.
- Actively promote and expand sales of the decorative paint and adhesives product range across hardware and retail channels.
- Identify and capitalize on cross selling opportunities to maximize revenue per account and increase product penetration
2. Sales Performance and Revenue Growth
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets as well as accounts receivable (collection) targets within assigned territory.
- Proactively identify, and onboard new customers within the hardware and retail channel.
- Expand presence within the commercial sector, driving new business opportunities and revenue streams.
- Strengthen and grow existing customer accounts through consistent engagement, upselling and service excellence.
3. Customer Relationship Management
- Deliver timely and effective resolution of customer queries, complaints and service requests.
- Build, maintain and strengthen long term strategic relationships with customers to drive loyalty and repeat business.
- Act as the primary point of contact, ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
4. Sales Planning and Execution
- Develop and implement structured sales growth plans aligned with business objectives and territory potential.
- Design and execute key account management strategies to grow high-value customers.
- Execute marketing and promotional initiatives in line with the annual commercial calendar.
- Ensure in-store merchandising excellence, including product visibility, placement, and brand standards.
5. Compliance to systems and procedures
- To comply with systems and procedures relate to inventory, cash control, credit control, human resources, new customer approval or any other policies and procedures established by KPL management related to the operations of the business.
6. Sales Reporting
- Competitive intelligence reports - Carry out Market Research, Competitor price audits and Customer Surveys and submit accurate and timely reports that meet the required deadline.
- Liaise and attend meetings with other company departments necessary to perform duties and improve business and organizational development.
- Perform any other related job duties as required by the job function that may be assigned by the Commercial Manager or his/her designate.
Minimum Education and Qualifications
- Five (5) CSEC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English.
- Professional Sales training diploma or certificate would be considered an asset.
Experience
- At least 3 to 5 years’ proven Sales experience, specifically within hardware retail sector, distribution and wholesale channels.
- Familiarity with the Tobago business environment, including local customs and relationship management as well as community based selling approach.

- Ability to drive long hours and commute extensively throughout the country.
- Required to work after normal hours when necessary.
- Experienced in Excel and Microsoft an asset.
