We are hiring a Sales Representative for our client in Kingston.

SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Full-Time | Islandwide Travel Required | Based in Kingston

 ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking a reliable and energetic Sales Representative to join their team. This hybrid role combines salesdriving, and logistics support—with a focus on promoting educational materials in schools and organizing engaging book fairs across the island.

You’ll be responsible for building relationships with schools, transporting and setting up book fairs, supporting customers, and helping grow our footprint in the education market.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Visit schools and booksellers to promote and sell educational resources.
  • Build relationships with principals, teachers, and decision-makers.
  • Represent the company at book fairs, school events, and conferences.
  • Use POS devices to process sales and provide excellent customer service.

Book Fair Logistics

  • Pick, pack, and transport books to and from school book fairs.
  • Set up and dismantle displays in a professional and timely manner.
  • Manage inventory and sales reporting during and after each event.

Driving & Delivery

  • Safely operate the company vehicle to deliver books and supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and care of the vehicle.
  • Assist with short deliveries, pickups, and warehouse runs as needed.

Reporting & Admin

  • Use Excel to check off inventory and complete post-event reports.
  • Assist with customer feedback collection and maintain basic records.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 CSEC subjects, including English and Mathematics.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in salescustomer service, or event coordination.
  • Experience in the education sector or book trade is an advantage.

Licensing

  • Valid General Driver’s License required.
  • Clean driving record and ability to drive light trucks and vans.

Technical Skills

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excelemail, and mobile apps.
  • Familiarity with Point-of-Sale (POS) machines preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift boxes up to 40 lbs and handle physical setup tasks.
  • Willing to travel islandwide and work flexible hours, including early mornings and late evenings during events.

Personal Qualities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Passion for literacy and supporting schools.
