Sales Representative

Job Summary:

The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling all of the Company’s products.  This is executed with the aim of exceeding targets and ensuring that the Company achieves its vision.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Interact with local customers, answer questions and advise them on our products
  • Obtain orders and make sure they are filled
  • Monitor sales and inventory levels at assigned customers to ensure that products are selling and levels are maintained as per best practice. E.g. shelf always stock 75% or more.
  • Monitor selling patterns, use creative methods of arranging stock to increase the flow of sales and report slow selling products.
  • Provide outstanding customer service during delivery operations
  • Remove damaged products from shelves and monitor to identify patterns of damaged goods and associated loss in revenue.
  • Maintains customer relationships by visiting with store managers, department managers, and employees; answering their questions; responding to special requests and describing product features.
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and interest in new products and advise the Director accordingly.
  • Engage in initiatives to attract new customers and cross sell the products to increase sales. E.g. cold calling
  • Actively sell company products to new and existing customers in order to meet and exceed the sales targets.
  • Resolve customer complaints within your scope of authority and refer all other matters to the Director for prompt resolution.
  • Completes all required reports and logs on sales made and duties performed.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures and safety rules.
  • Ensure timely deliveries
  • Have a strong base knowledge regarding our products
  • To perform any other job related duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor

Performance Standards

  • All communications with customers should be handled in a courteous and timely manner
  • Questions and complaints must be dealt with in a professional manner, and where necessary refer to the Director.
  • Provide feedback daily
  • Adhere to company rules and regulations at all times.
  • Submit weekly reports on a timely basis

 

Qualifications

CXC Maths and English

Sales/Marketing certificate would be asset

 

Experience

A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar field

Valid driver’s license – 1-3 years

Three or more months with merchandising and customer service experience
