The Sales Representative is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the Company’s products and/or related services.

JOB SUMMARY

  • The Sales Representative is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the Company’s products and/or related services. The Sales Representative is also responsible for personally contacting and securing new business accounts/customers.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES 

  • Establishing, developing and maintaining business relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the organization’s products/services.
  • Demonstrating products and services to existing/potential customers and assisting them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
  • Making telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
  • Researching sources for developing prospective customers and researching information to determine their potential.
  • Developing clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Expediting the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Coordinating sales effort with division manager.
  • Analyzing the territory/market’s potential and determining the value of existing and prospective customers’ value to the organization.
  • Identifying advantages and comparing organization’s products/services.
  • Planning and organizing personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory/segment.
  • Supplying management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services.
  • Keeping abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.
  • Participating in trade shows and conventions. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 1st Degree in Marketing or related field would be an asset.
  • Must possess CXC passes inclusive of Math’s and English.
  • Must possess three to five years’ experience in electrical/lighting sector. 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Ability to determine solutions for customers with a consultative sales approach in mind.
  • Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
