Job Summary:

The incumbent will develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, while achieving our customer acquisition and revenue targets. The role involves market research, customer engagement and the implementation of sales strategies for the Company. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for coaching, advising, motivating, or replacing sales representatives (if necessary) while building and maintaining a high-performance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain long-lasting customer relationships to increase the company’s sales revenue.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyse trends, and provide regular reports.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for the launch of new products.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor products.
  • Present sales revenue data and provide sales forecasts to senior management
  • Participate in the development of the Company’s annual business plans.
  • Assist in the negotiation of customer contracts.
  • Coordinate product launches, including marketing plans and distribution strategies.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, train and develop the sales team for improved performance and efficiency.
  • Set targets for sales team and monitor their performance.
  • Negotiate returns and damaged goods policies with customers.
  • Monitor and advise on the appropriate rotation of stock
  • Collect customer feedback and recommend adjustments for product improvement and increase in product sales.
  • Create strategies to expand the company’s markets (local and regional), customers and sales revenue.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional planning and organising skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills; capable of managing difficult or emotional customers.
  • Skilled at pricing and market analytics  
  • Ability to create, develop and manage teams .
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Minimum Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field will be an asset.
  • At least three (3) years experience in contract negotiation.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sales and new product development, in the FMCG industry with at least three (3) years in a managerial role.
