Job Qualifications:

The incumbent requires knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.  Special skills in customer and personal service is required especially as it includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

A good command of the English language is required in order to present oneself as an ambassador of Edgechem Jamaica Limited.  By extension knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods are required. This includes alternative ways to inform and sell via written, oral, and visual methods.

The candidate will be required to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems that may arise in the carrying out of his/her function.


Experience:

At least three (3) years in the field of Sales & Marketing especially in a manufacturing industry.

 

Major Responsibilities:

The Sales Executive’s responsibility is to sell the finished products of Edgechem Jamaica Limited to businesses or groups of individuals in the Western. The work will require substantial knowledge of items being sold in respect to applications and warranties. 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contacting regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
  • Recommending products to customers, based on customer's specific needs and interests.
  • Answering questions about products, prices, durability and credit terms, etc.
  • Meeting with customers to demonstrate and explain features of products where necessary.
  • Preparing lists of prospective customers based on market changes and developments identified within the press and from trade shows and other marketing events.
  • Reviewing sales records and current market information to determine value or sales potential of product.
  • Estimating delivery dates and arranges delivery schedules in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
  • Completing sales contracts or forms to record sales information and presenting same to the production department
  • Instructing customers in use of products.
  • Assisting and advising distributors in the use of sales promotion techniques in keeping with the company’s own advertising campaigns.
  • Investigating and resolving customer complaints.
  • Assembling and stocking product displays in distributors’ outlets.
  • Preparing when required reports on sales and products in addition to estimates, and bids to meet specific needs of customer.
  • Obtaining credit information on prospective customers and making a recommendation of same
