Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Strategic Business Development team in the capacity of:

Sales Associate (Contract) (Grade 2)

Deliver superior client experience and sales goals by assisting clients with their full range of financial needs for both business and personal clients.

Provide personal credit facility, financing their home and investing for the future.

Effectively assess client financial needs, provide advice and propose product/ service solutions that meet these needs.

Identify additional client needs for cross-selling opportunities with the goal of deepening client relationships and building long-term profitable relationships.

Location: Kingston

As a Sales Associate, you will:

• Take ownership and accountability of clients’ problems at first point of contact.
• Escalate concerns to supervisor/assistant manager where necessary.
• Work with the unit in the achievement of growth targets and the bank’s business an strategic plan related to retail sales. 
• Maintain awareness and adequate knowledge of all bank products.
• Exercise due diligence when completing applications, adhering to all credit policies and procedures.
• Be fully aware of the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) and adhere to regulations without deviation.
• Participate in promotional campaigns by representing the bank at networking and client events to further enhance its image and develop additional business.
• Be aware of the Business Continuity Plan.
• Adhere to Sagicor’s Code of Ethics.
• Adhere to the computer security policy and procedures in particular, protection of passwords, exposure of the system to viruses and improper usage of the bank’s computer system.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution or a minimum 3 years' working experience in the sale of financial products and services.
• Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
• Knowledge and training in credit and security would be an asset.
• High degree of accuracy and detail oriented.
• High degree of confidentiality.
• Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
• Effective public speaking skills.
• Customer-centric with good interpersonal, communication and complaint handling skills.
• Ability to anticipate clients’ needs and respond by exceeding those expectations.
• Knowledge of the bank’s systems and procedures.
• Knowledge of Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
• Strong selling & negotiating and customer service skills.
• Adept at resolving conflicts and skilfully handling disgruntled clients.
• Good command of the English Language.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
