JOB SUMMARY

The Sales Account Manager will lead the drive to grow and maintain assigned sales portfolio consistent with the targets set by the Company for the budgeted period.  He/she will work with and be part of a professional team of people with the highest level of product knowledge and the deepest commitment to offering excellent service. He/she will partner with assigned customers and establish productive working relationships with key personnel.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Secure customer orders through planned visits, telephone calls, emails or virtual meetings as per request by customer or as assigned by Sales Manager.
  • Follow-up on new references, enquiries and opportunities for new product development from new and existing customers. Processing all first-time orders from sample request through to acceptance, quotation, and job cards for onward submission to customer service.
  • Ensure all samples and print instructions are verified for conformance to customer requirements prior to forwarding to the customer for final approval.
  • Deliver samples, email quotations and printing instruction sheets to existing and new customers.
  • Consult daily with Customer Service to ensure all repeat orders are processed on a timely basis in accordance with the Customer Purchase Order, clearing up any ambiguities that may appear. Assist in processing repeat orders as required.  
  • Oversee customer complaints by being the company’s first responder. Gather all pertinent information, log complaint, and coordinate with relevant personnel ensuring timely follow up action and resolution.
  • Conduct monthly partnership meetings with key assigned customers, recording all items discussed and Action Plans. Monitor and coordinate follow up actions.
  • Ensure complete customer satisfaction through planned visits, follow-up calls, virtual meetings, and emails. Submit a daily report at the end of the day to the Sales Manager.
  • Submit monthly report relative to sales targets.
  • Review and email order backlog discussing any changes such as cancellation or deferrals with assigned customers. Advise the customer in advance of any difficulty or circumstances that may hinder the timely delivery of their goods.
  • Liaise with Planning where changes are required to planned jobs, and to communicate any other requests.
  • Organise and follow up daily on any deliveries the customer requested, as well as any orders scheduled after work hours or on weekends.
  • Conduct daily checks for any credit held jobs for assigned customers, following up with Accounts Receivable in line with customer’s terms and advising customers of status.
  • Assist with collection of cheques for assigned customer or when assigned by Sales Manager. Submit credit requests to Customer Service in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with other Sales and Customer Service staff to promote efficient handling of all customer requirements and communication of such. 
  • Promote teamwork and unity in the Commercial Department.  Handling all issues in a professional manner.
  • Obtain and report on any information that may not be to the best interest of the company, in particular, change of policy or the activities of competitors.
  • Keep abreast and advise the company of any new trends and developments in the industry.
  • Conduct all business transactions with high ethical standards consistent with the image and policy of the Company.
  • Perform any other specific functions, which may be required as directed by the Sales Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of five (5) “O” level passes (must include an “A” in English and a “B” in Math). 
  • Three (3) years of relevant sales experience. 
  • A first degree or other tertiary level education will be an asset
  • At least five (5) years’ in a sales/marketing environment. 
  • Must have travelled and worked throughout Trinidad & Tobago.
