Job Title: Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Officer

Role summary:
The role focuses on ensuring compliance with legal requirements, company policies, and industry best practices to prevent accidents, incidents, and occupational ill health. Focus is primarily site-based on monitoring safe work practices, conducting inspections, and providing practical safety support to technicians, supervisors, and contractors.
Contract Type: 6 months
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work within the SHEQ team providing support and assistance throughout the business
- Prepare safety and environmental reports as required
- Conduct safety and environmental audits, inspections and observations including the management and maintenance of the audit tracker
- Monitor compliance with Safe Systems of Work, risk assessments and method statements.
- Identify hazards and support the development and implementation of risk mitigation and corrective action plan
- Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and unsafe practices in line with company procedures.
- Daily/weekly reporting to the SHEQ manager and project management staff
- Conduct incident/accident investigations and prepare reports for internal/external purposes
- Provide SHEQ advice and direction to staff and contractors.
- Promote safety awareness and positive safety behaviour among field teams.
- Liaise with supervisors and team leads to address safety issues identified on site.
- Support safe mobilisation and demobilisation of crews.
Skills and Qualifications required:
- Hold a recognized SHEQ qualification
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent planning, organizational training, teamwork and presentation skills
- Excellent literacy, numeric and IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Full, clean driving license for a minimum of 3 years
- Flexibility in line with business requirements
- Ability to always represent the company in a professional manner
