The SME Partner will drive the growth of the Group’s SME portfolio by executing strategic initiatives and delivering exceptional client service. Responsibilities include client targeting, financial analysis, risk assessment, and credit submission facilitation.

Job Summary:
The SME partner will play a key role in the execution of strategies aimed at growing the SME portfolio of the Group. The incumbent will ensure consistent delivery of the agreed SME value proposition whilst delivering exceptional client care. The duties shall include targeting prospective and existing clients within the specified market, preparing goal planning proposals, performing due diligence, financial analysis, risk assessment, deal structuring and expediting credit submissions for approval.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains an active pipeline of potential customers and partnership opportunities; ensuring that client contact and conversion objectives for the client segment are met.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of the Group’s Financial Planning Conversation (FPC) for the SME client segment.
  • Responsibility for originating profitable SME clientele based on pre-defined customer profiles and targeted industries new accounts, lending solutions and merchant services etc.
  • Meeting targets and referrals across all financial solutions – including: Day-to-Day Banking, Financing, Investments and Insurance.
  • Responsible for retention and growth of existing customer relationships and new business development through cross-selling and referral sources.
  • Client Experience: Ensure the overall SME value proposition is consistently delivered.
  • Review status of existing loans to ensure that they are kept from becoming delinquent and remedial action is promptly taken in cases where there are signs of distress. Ensure triggered reviews are conducted within agreed SLA.
  • Be the first line of defense for the bank against potential AML violations ensuring thorough knowledge of the Group’s AML KYC requirements and course of action to be taken in case of breaches.

Qualifications (Education & Certification):

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management/economics/finance or related field from an accredited University

Experience:

  • At least 3 years’ work experience in finance, marketing, customer service, sales banking/finance, consulting or related fields. 

Other (Skills):

  • Excellent understanding of financial statements; ability to explain detailed financial and industry analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience in making oral presentations
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage with clients in both formal and informal setting
  • Knowledge of bank’s AML & KYC customer on-boarding requirements
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards
  • Own and operate a reliable motor vehicle
  • Ability to build and leverage strategic working relationships
  • Strong PC skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel etc.).
