Settlement Officer 

  

General Accountability 

The Settlement Officer is responsible for: - 

  • Providing technical guidance and leadership to the Reporting Assistant/ Settlement Assistant and is responsible for planning, directing and executing robust, accurate and timely submission of reports to regulators with analysis. 
  • Ensuring internal reports are prepared in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with the departments’ SLAs. 
  • The accurate valuation of the Funds (public and private) together with the accurate daily Publishing of the NAVs’  
  • Acts for the Manager-Funds Administration when necessary.

 

Key Responsibilities

Level ‘A’ Signatory in the department with approval for Citibank Custodial Accounts, Central Bank of T&T, Citibank Wire Transfers and Investment Letters Ensure compliance with the Corporation’s pricing policy as it relates to Equity and Bonds which informs the Funds’ valuation. 

  • Provide technical and leadership guidance to the Reporting Assistant and Settlement Assistants team Review expropriations on the Funds to ensure the Fund Accounting unit is provided with the accurate amounts to Fund the Corporation’s bank accounts for the processing of Repurchases. 
  • Provide technical and leadership guidance to the Reporting Assistant and Settlement Assistants team to ensure all reports are produced accurately and timely in accordance with the Regulatory/Statutory and the Corporations guidelines 

 

Ensure statutory reporting to all Regulators are accurately prepared and submitted in a timely manner for the Central Bank of Trinidad & Tobago (CBTT) and the Trinidad & Tobago Securities & Exchange Commission (TTSEC). 

  • Ensure the accurate and timely dispatch of the Volume Report to The Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission as it relates to the funds in accordance with the CIS guidelines. 
  • The Balance of Payments Report (BOP 25 & 25A) 
  • Ministry of Finance – Sales & Repurchases Report (with analysis) 
  • Micro & Macro Prudential Reporting Framework (MMRF) 
  • CBTT Top 10 Holdings & Asset Classification 
  • Asset Allocation Report 
  • Central Bank of T & T Request for DATA Report 

 

Ensure the accurate analysis and preparation of the Management Charge Report Ensure. 

  • Ensure the accurate formulation of the Estimated Management Charge accrual monthly for the Trinidad and Tobago Unit Trust Corporation to be paid at every distribution period or at the end of the financial year.  This report is used for the management of the collective investment schemes, as well as to calculate the respective fund sizes 

 

Ensure local and overseas investments are processed, settled and transferred to relevant custodians in accordance with trade instructions from Investments. 

 

Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of Monthly Portfolio Returns (NPR/GPR). 

  • Ensure the accurate Analysis of the Financial Statements of the individual Funds to compute the net and gross profitability return. 

 

Review and ensure accurate daily and month-end Net Asset Value Reports are completed and uploaded on the shared drive for use by Investments and Risk Departments. 

  • Review and ensure daily portfolio valuation of funds are accurately prepared for publishing and use by the Investments Department. 
  • Review and ensure month end portfolio valuation of funds are accurately prepared for use by the Investments and Risk Departments. 

 

Ensure requests for ad hoc reports for both Internal and External Publics are completed accurate and timely. 

  • To ensure the preparation, analysis and accurate completion of ad hoc request reports are prepared and dispatched to the internal and external publics. 

  

The selected candidate must possess the following combination of qualifications, skills, training and experience: 

  • A First Degree in a relevant field from an accredited tertiary institution 
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar position within the financial industry and 
  • Three (3) years’ supervisory experience 
  • Suitable combination of training and experience 
    OR 
  • A Diploma in a relevant field from an accredited institution 
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in a similar position within the financial industry and 
  • Four (4) years’ supervisory experience 
  • Suitable combination of training and experience
