The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the high quality service offered by the Sewing/Linen Services Department by manufacturing and repairing all linens at the Caura Hospital.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA).

SEAMSTRESS

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the high quality service offered by the Sewing/Linen Services Department by manufacturing and repairing all linens at the Caura Hospital.

         Main Responsibilities:

• Cuts a variety of hospital linen using samples from different areas.
• Makes patterns of all linen items made by the sewing room.
• Sews and repair all hospital linen, scrubs suits, curtains, and pinafore.
• Maintains records pertaining to supplies and work performed.
• Informs supervisor of any equipment malfunctions.
• Assists in the sorting and distribution of linen.
• Cuts and sew uniforms for categories of staff entitled to a uniform allowance.        

Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:

• Certificate course in the manufacture and repair of clothing and linens
• At least two (2) years’ experience in similar or related job function.

 *Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed programme is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago.
