Route Planner

The Route Planner develops and executes daily delivery plans to ensure on-time, efficient, and cost-effective distribution to customers.

Job Purpose

The Route Planner is responsible for supporting the timely and efficient delivery of products to customers by developing, coordinating, and communicating daily delivery plans. The role ensures optimal route utilization, high service levels, and cost-effective distribution while aligning Sales, Warehouse, and Delivery operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning

• Develop and submit daily delivery plans for review and approval
• Communicate approved delivery schedules to Sales and Delivery teams in a timely and accurate manner
• Coordinate with the Warehouse to ensure efficient truck loading in line with delivery plans
• Ensure high delivery success rates across Key Accounts, Traditional Trade, and Home & Office channels

2. Distribution Efficiency & Reporting

• Monitor and action all undelivered orders daily based on Sales team guidance
• Prepare and distribute daily performance and delivery reports
• Analyze trends and support root cause analysis for delivery inefficiencies
• Recommend and support improvements to distribution strategies and routing efficiency

3. Operational Support

• Coordinate communication between Sales and Distribution teams to ensure alignment on priorities
• Provide support for route accounting systems and invoice generation when required
• Perform administrative duties to support distribution operations
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external customers

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in distribution, logistics, or route planning is an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with route planning or ERP systems is an advantage
