To assist with Stork’s Access Business – compliance of rope access operations in line with the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) codes and standards.

Job objective:

To assist with Stork’s Access Business – compliance of rope access operations in line with the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) codes and standards.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • The overall management of all Rope Access jobs/projects assigned.
  • Responsible for examining all Rope Access equipment to ensure maximum safety of the Rope Access technicians.
  • Oversees the Rope Access crew on site to ensure that they work to the Stork’s Rope Access procedures and adhere to IRATA and Stork Safety Guidelines.
  • Assesses all jobs prior to mobilisation for equipment and manpower requirements.
  • Responsible for preparing all TBRAs for jobs prior to mobilisation.
  • Does daily toolbox talks with Rope Access crew.
  • Liaises with customer representative on site on a daily basis.
  • Ensures that all Rope Access technicians keep their Log Books up to date.
  • Acts as the liaison between Stork and IRATA to ensure that all hours worked on Rope Access by the Technicians are submitted for approval and progression through the ranks.
  • Responsible for training technicians to assist with their development and also trains new recruits in Rope Access techniques. 
  • Other related duties as required

 

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • IRATA certified  
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar role in Rope Access
  • Working knowledge IRATA code of practices, procedures and standards
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Anility to supervise, coordinate and schedule activities of the Rope Access Crew.
