JOB OBJECTIVE:

The Shift Coordinator is responsible for providing exceptional guest service through kitchen management, directing Crew Members, to maintain operational procedures and standards.  Shift Co-ordinator is responsible for completing administrative duties assigned and give support to management to achieve restaurant goals.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

Shift Control

  • Ensure team members display proper image, and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards as outlined by the company.
  • Ensure effective positioning of team members to achieve the right person, right place, and the right time (RRR).
  • Organise crew meals and breaks
  • Communicate shift goals to achieve targets
  • Report unexpected occurrences and notify appropriate parties in a timely manner
  • Ensure workstations are cleaned and organized according to brand and local health authorities’ standards.
  • Organize kitchen to maintain loafs for efficiency
  • Identify bottlenecks and act to resolve the issue

 

Administrative

  • Perform cash management responsibilities
  • Complete required daily checklists and inventory checks.
  • Complete daily inventories
  • Complete all daily paperwork neatly and accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct restaurant opening and closing according to procedures and policy
  • Refer disciplinary and all other human-related matters to the Assistant Manager and/or Restaurant
  • Ensure food safety procedures are strictly adhered to, including but not limited to:
    • Hand washing procedure
    • Temperature requirements
    • Holding times
    • Cleaning and sanitising procedures
  • Monitor activities to support the efficient use of food, paper, labour and utility
  • Effectively manage waste and PLV, including pilfering
  • Conduct dining, restroom, kitchen and storage area checks

JOB SPECIFICTION/COMPETENCIES

Required Qualifications:        

  • Supervisory Management Certification  .                                         
  • Certification in Inventory Management.                                         
  • Basic computer skills.

                                    

Required Experience:            

  • One-year experience at the team member level

Customer Service

  • Serve customers according to company and specific brand procedures and guidelines
  • Ensure that customers’ orders are accurate.
  • Ensure that the speed of service is completed based on the company’s procedures.
  • Ensure that the food quality of the brand is maintained, and the proper procedures are followed.  followed.
  • Work with a sense of urgency

 

Delivery

 

  • Assist the Assistant Restaurant Manager to ensure that the delivery protocols are properly followed and maintained.
  • Assist the Assistant RM to ensure adequate floats are available for riders throughout the day
  • Assist the Assistant Restaurant Manager to ensure that the delivery log is completed accurately daily
  • Ensure that the Hello Foods electronics devices protocols are followed.
  • Assist the Assistant Restaurant Manager to reconcile the cash dispensary with email logs for the GM daily.

 

Food preparation

  • Supervise activities to ensure the preparation of high-quality products consistent with the company’s guidelines and brand procedures.

Cleaning Sanitation and Hygiene

  • Organize, clean, and sanitize workstations and other assigned areas to maintain the standards for the company’s image
  • Observe and practice handwashing procedures according to company standards
  • Ensure that all the organizational health and safety protocols are maintained.
  • Check on the food handlers permit expiration date of all crew members.

 

Safety and Security

  • Practise safety and security procedures as directed by the company, management staff, and government agencies
  • Ensure all staff wears the necessary protective gear when completing tasks.

 

General

  • Maintain compliance with company rules and regulations
  • Conduct training, coaching, and mentoring to improve team performance
  • Maintain discipline
  • Ability to work weekends, public holidays, and night shifts
  • Must be dependable, honest, hardworking, and have the ability to handle stressful situations
  • Keep abreast of all changes related to the job
  • Comply with Jamaican labour laws

 

Other Duties

Any other related duties as required by management
