Restaurant Operations Manager

A popular restaurant in Kingston is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee and optimize daily restaurant operations. This role is critical to ensuring exceptional service delivery, operational efficiency, food quality, and compliance across Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the seamless coordination of restaurant operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, food safety, cost control, and team performance. The role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement and business growth

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, including FOH and BOH activities
  • Manage staff coordination, scheduling, and performance
  • Ensure excellent customer service and effective resolution of issues
  • Maintain food quality, consistency, and safety standards
  • Oversee inventory control, cost management, and supplier coordination
  • Lead staff training, development, and engagement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage maintenance of equipment and facilities
  • Prepare operational reports and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support marketing initiatives and uphold brand standards

 

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including FOH and BOH
  • Proven leadership and people-management skills
  • Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and oversee inventory
  • Proficiency with POS systems, inventory, and scheduling software
  • Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities

  

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ experience in restaurant or food service management
  • Demonstrated experience managing both FOH and BOH operations
  • Proven experience in staff training, supervision, and performance management
  • Strong background in customer service excellence
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field
    (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Food Safety and Restaurant Management certifications are an asset
