Department: Food & Beverage/Hospitality
Reports To: Managing Director
Role Purpose
To oversee the overall operations of the restaurant and beach club, ensuring high standards of guest service, food and beverage quality, staff performance, and facility cleanliness. The manager manages costs, drives profitability, enhances guest experiences and upholds and enhances brand standards in a dynamic beachside environment. The manager takes charge in collaborating with the owner and other managers.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee daily restaurant and beach club operations.
- Maintain seamless service across dining, bar, beach and lounge areas.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar to ensure timely and quality food service.
- Ensure excellence in food, service and ambiance.
- Monitor inventory, supplies and ordering procedures.
- Observe health, safety and hygiene standards.
Staff Management
- Recruit, train, schedule and supervise staff, including servers, bartenders, beach attendants and support staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations.
- Foster a motivated, positive and professional team culture.
Customer Service & Guest Experience
- Ensure excellent service and resolve guest complaints effectively and promptly.
- Implement guest feedback systems and use insights for continuous improvement.
- Enhance ambiance and experience through music, promotional events, themed nights and decor.
- Enrich guest experience through attentive service and creative event coordination.
Sales & Financial Performance
- Monitor and control budgets, sales, costs, including labor and other key metrics to ensure profitability.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase foot traffic and revenue.
- Create promotional offers, themed nights and events to drive business.
Marketing & Event Coordination
- Work with marketing team to promote the venue via social media and other platforms to increase brand visibility.
- Plan and oversee beach parties, weddings, private events and special functions.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses in all BVI (i.e. Government, corporation, boating industry, vendors, fisherman and tourism partners).

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in F&B or hospitality in the West Indies/Caribbean.
- Experience in beach club or resort settings is a strong advantage
- First Aid and Food Safety certifications (preferred)
- US VISA (preferred)
Working Conditions
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Must reside on Jost Van Dyke (accommodation provided)
- Role involves standing, walking and working outdoors for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and handle beachside equipment when needed
- Driver’s license (cars and small pick-up trucks)
- Must possess the ability to swim and be comfortable on small boats
