Job Summary

The Religious Education Teacher is responsible for teaching CXC Religious Education at the secondary level, preparing students for CSEC examinations, and nurturing students’ spiritual, moral, and ethical development in keeping with Methodist values and traditions. The teacher will promote critical thinking, respect for diverse beliefs, and Christian character formation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the CXC CSEC Religious Education syllabus.
• Prepare students for CXC School-Based Assessments (SBAs) and external examinations.
• Integrate Christian (Methodist) principles while respecting religious diversity.
• Develop lesson plans that encourage discussion, reflection, and ethical reasoning.
• Assess and monitor student progress through tests, assignments, projects, and examinations.
• Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
• Participate in chapel services, school worship, and other faith-based activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning and school programs.
• Maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the School Administration.
