Regulatory Specialist (Compliance Officer)

Location: Chaguanas

Base Salary: $18,000.00 per month

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Accounting, Law or other Finance related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution or Professional body (e.g. ACCA or CMA)
  • At least five (5) years of relevant Compliance experience, preferably in financial services
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role
  • ACAMS or equivalent certification (asset)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed
  • A suitable combination of experience and qualifications will also be considered

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Compliance and AML/CFT Programme
  • Ensure compliance policies and procedures align with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits
  • Prepare compliance reports for senior management and regulatory authorities
  • Advise leadership on non-compliance areas and recommend corrective actions
  • Act as liaison with regulatory and statutory bodies including the FIU
  • Review and report suspicious transactions and maintain related records
  • Conduct risk assessments and compliance audits
  • Monitor compliance breaches and support risk mitigation
  • Review and approve client account opening applications
  • Conduct staff and director training in compliance matters
  • Keep staff informed of regulatory updates and compliance developments
  • Perform HR compliance audits in line with AML/CFT policies
  • Carry out additional compliance-related duties as assigned
