Regional Security Officer

A large public sector entity is seeking a highly skilled and disciplined Regional Security Officer (East/West) to join its team. This is a senior operational security role responsible for protecting personnel, facilities, assets, and customers across multiple locations islandwide.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Security Manager, the Regional Security Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining effective security systems and procedures across assigned regions. The successful candidate will also contribute to disaster preparedness, investigations, security training, and the continuous improvement of security operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices

• Ensure adequate security coverage at all facilities within the assigned region

• Monitor and evaluate the performance of security personnel and systems

• Conduct investigations into incidents, accidents, theft, and property damage

• Prepare and submit security and investigation reports

• Conduct security surveys and ensure implementation of recommendations

• Administer GPS tracking and monitoring systems

• Deliver security training programmes to staff

• Liaise with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), private security firms, and other agencies

• Inspect facilities to ensure compliance with security standards

• Approve security-related expenditure within authorized limits

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Security Management or Security Administration and Management from a recognized institution

• Minimum of three (3) to four (4) years’ experience with the JDF, JCF, or a reputable security organization

Required Knowledge & Competencies

• Knowledge of laws governing national, industrial, and electronic security

• Understanding of government regulations and organizational security requirements

• Strong knowledge of crime prevention, investigations, and evidence handling

• Ability to design and implement cost-effective security systems

• High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgement

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, CCTV, access control, and security systems

• Excellent leadership and supervisory capability

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Ability to perform under pressure and in sensitive situations
