Job Summary

The Regional Manager for Cool Oasis works directly with the Managing Director and is responsible for the overall management and profitability of stations within the assigned region.  These responsibilities include achievement of budgeted financial results, staffing, inventory management, maximization of operational efficiencies and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. This relates to all aspects of the station business: fuel, stores, third party rentals and phone credit. This position is a hands-on leadership role.

 

Number of people Managed: Appx. 60

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clear understanding of key drivers in their market, including competitor strategies, pricing and market changes to recommend growth initiatives
  • Achieve AOP targets for volume and gross margin for all stations in Region
  • Manage and reduce OpEx in line with AOP targets
  • Identify and reduce stock loss and take corrective action to maintain below tolerance level of 0.5% for fuel and 1.5% for stores
  • Analyze sales, margins, expenses, stock loss and report on a weekly basis, to build action plans as needed
  • Ensure Mystery Motorist scores for all stations in the region are above average of 90%
  • Maintain the station property, building and equipment in a safe and secure manner
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines as it relates to station and store operations through daily monitoring and monthly mid-shift audits, with focus on:
  • Inventory management including deliveries
  • Cash handling and deposits
  • Stream reporting
  • Store merchandise, airtime top-up credit and mobile money
  • Operational Checklists and readiness for business
  • Track and ensure all regulatory permits, licenses and requirements are complied with and current
  • Ensure customers are served as per company guidelines and any customer grievances are resolved in a satisfactory and timely manner
  • Ensure stations are sufficiently staffed and plan for training and evaluation.  Station teams to be equipped with clear deliverables and held accountable for responsibilities.  Implement disciplinary action for policy and procedure breaches, indiscipline or damages
  • Implement company promotions efficiently and evaluate impact on results
  • Monitor dealer station operations and include for promotions and brand activities, and provide maintenance, training and pricing support as required
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance is done at stations to eliminate downtime

Academic/Technical/Management Experience and Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s in Business Administration or equivalent area of discipline
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience as Senior Manager in the service industry or equivalent with highlighted successes in the job
