Role Overview

The Regional Commercial Manager is responsible for driving commercial growth, strengthening customer and agent relationships, and expanding CFL Agencies USA’s market presence across Trinidad, the Eastern Caribbean, and Guyana. This role plays a critical leadership function in executing CFL’s regional sales strategy while ensuring alignment with operational capabilities, financial objectives, and service standards.

The position is both strategic and hands-on, requiring active engagement with customers, agents, carriers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Commercial Growth

  • Execute CFL Agencies USA’s commercial strategy across the Eastern Caribbean and Guyana
  • Grow volumes and revenue across ocean freight (FCL/LCL), air freight, energy, projects and value-added logistics services
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, trade lanes, and industry verticals
  • Drive balanced and profitable growth across import, export, and cross-trade business

 

Key Account & Agent Management

  • Manage and grow key regional and multinational customer accounts
  • Serve as the primary commercial liaison between CFL Agencies USA and regional agents
  • Support agent development by providing commercial guidance, sales tools, and strategic direction
  • Maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, airlines, consolidators, and overseas partners

 

 

 

Sales Leadership & Support

  • Hire, Lead, coach, and support country-level sales teams and commercial representatives
  • Participate in joint sales calls, customer presentations, and regional tenders
  • Ensure consistent sales discipline, CRM usage, and reporting across the region
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of commercial staff as required

 

Pricing, Tenders & Profitability

  • Oversee regional pricing strategy in coordination with CFL’s pricing and operations teams
  • Lead regional and multinational tenders, RFQs, and contract negotiations
  • Ensure pricing integrity, margin protection, and commercial compliance
  • Work closely with finance to support credit control and adherence to payment terms

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with operations to ensure service delivery meets CFL’s standards and customer expectations
  • Align commercial commitments with operational feasibility and cost structures
  • Support compliance with trade regulations, company policies, and contractual obligations

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor market trends, carrier activity, and competitive dynamics in the Caribbean and Guyana
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports to senior management
  • Identify risks and opportunities related to capacity, pricing volatility, and regional regulations

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)
  • 8–12+ years of commercial experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics
  • Strong working knowledge of Caribbean trade lanes, ports, and agent-based networks
  • Proven track record of revenue growth, key account management, and regional sales leadership
  • Experience working with NVOCCs, shipping lines, and overseas partners
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
