Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Insurance Operation Services- Revenue Operations and Payment team in the capacity of:

 

 

Refund and Transfer Assistant
(Grade 2)

 

 

Provide effective and efficient service to our clients through processing transfers and refunds of payment from the Life Admin Systems suspense accounts.

 

Recommend/take corrective action when anomalies are identified to ensure client satisfaction.

 

 

Location: Kingston

 

As a Refund and Transfer Assistant, you will:

 

  • Process refund requests from CAPSIL suspense accounts within a maximum of six (6) working days.
  • Review and verify financial transactions on computer system.
  • Prepare cheque requisition for approval by team leader.
  • Input information to generate cheque from suspense account.
  • Prepare journal voucher for approval by supervisor.
  • Input information to transfer money to transfer money to other policies.
  • Reject requests or seek clarification from Branch/Head Office personnel on matters relating to refund of payments or transfers.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

What do you need?

 

  • Six (6) CXC/GCE subjects at general proficiency including Mathematics and English Language, Accounts or Principles of Business.
  • Relevant Life Office Management Association (LOMA) I and II designations are assets.
  • Two (2) years working experience in an operations division of a life insurance company.
  • Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Proficient in business software and tools; CAPSIL & GIAS.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of business laws and regulations in the insurance industry.
  • Sound knowledge of financial and accounting regulations and standards.
  • Ability to handle customer complaints resolve issues effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyse data and make recommendation.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Working knowledge of local Data Privacy Acts.
