Reconciliation Officer

Purpose of the Role

 

To process and reconcile daily cash and non-cash transactions for the branch.

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Update accounts receivables and deposits in the system on a timely basis,
  • Reconcile all credit/debit card machine sales at the end of the day,
  • Reconcile cash drawers daily to ensure cashiers are correctly balanced,
  • Prepare floats for cashiers and ensure change is always available,
  • Execute functions of the Senior Cashier in his/her absence,
  • Support the maintenance of customer service standards of the cashiers.

 

Key Competences

  • Working knowledge of accounting,
  • Strong organizational skills,
  • High level of integrity and honesty,
  • Keen eye for details,
  • Excellent numeric skills,
  • Results oriented.

 

Minimum Education & Experience

  • 5 CXC subjects including Mathematics or Accounts or Diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
  • 2 years working experience at least 1 of which should be is a similar role, or as a cashier, preferably in a retail environment.
