 VACANCY 

Applications are invited for suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA).

 RADIOGRAPHER I

The incumbent will be responsible for performing all types of routine X-Ray examinations independently, supports senior staff in specialised areas and undertakes all general radiographic procedures throughout the Institution.

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform general radiographic examinations including fluoroscopic and general radio-opaque media examinations.
• Perform ward and theatre radiography.
• Assist the Radiologist during procedures in the absence of nursing help.
• Ensure adherence to all radiation safety requirements involving staff, patients, family and visitors.
• Participate in out-of- hours and/or on-call services.
• Report malfunction of equipment and potential hazards to senior members of staff.
• Operate the Computer Management System.
• Be fully aware of the Local Rules governing the administering of ionising radiation.
• Observe and adopt all Health and Safety Procedures relevant in the performance of their radiographic duties.
• Attend lectures, seminars, etc, as may be necessary for the safety of patients, e.g. Fire Lectures, CPR, etc.
• Assist the organisational relationship in special investigations.
• Competently perform routine X-Ray examinations of all body structures.
• Monitor, assist and guide student Radiographers.
• Ensure that the department is adequately stocked to meet its requirements.
• Process all films or digital images from each procedure.
• Refer abnormal or problematic results to the Radiographer II or Ultrasonographers where necessary.
• Perform other related duties as directed by the organisational relationship.

Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:

• Bachelor Degree in Radiology from a recognised institution.
• Current licensure with the Radiographers Board of Trinidad and Tobago (RBTT).

* Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed program is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago.
