Quantity Surveyor- Jamaica
The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for managing all costs related to our construction projects. This includes controlling costs, ensuring that the project is completed within its projected budget, and ensuring quality standards are met.
Specific Requirements/Duties of the Position Include:
Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the optimal cost.
Preparation of tender and contract documents for capital works projects
Supervision of the tender process inclusive of bid analysis
Contract administration inclusive of inspections, measurement of contract works, preparation of payment certificates, Engineer’s Instructions, Change Orders, etc.
Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documents.
Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
Traveling from the office to various sites as required.
Reports to General Manager.
Undertake any other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar.
Knowledge of Construction Laws and Regulations.
Knowledge of construction standard forms of contracts.
Atleast five (5) years post professional qualification experience in general construction estimating and financial experience.
Excellent Communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Strong estimating and financial analysis skills.
Highly developed project planning and management skills
Highly responsive with strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work on weekends
Ability to work in a fast-moving and culturally diverse environment
Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
Great networking abilities.
