Coming in 2022, this stunning property in Saint Lucia hosts Cabot’s third golf course and second resort in its expanding portfolio of world-class properties. The property will feature a magnificent Coore & Crenshaw-designed 18-hole golf course and a stunning collection of residences ranging from hillside townhomes to expansive single-family homes and customizable beachfront lots. Cabot Saint Lucia broke ground on phase one of development in the summer of 2019. The Cabot Point golf course is set to open in 2022. 

Position Overview:

Cabot Saint Lucia is seeking young vibrant individuals to fill the role of “Quantity Surveyor” for one of the largest Golf development projects in the Caribbean.

The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with his/ her team members and will report directly to the Commercial Manager. He/ she will be responsible for assisting with all financial and commercial matters and providing on site guidance and support for all phases of this wonderful project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists with preparation of Construction Cost Estimates at each key stage
  • Liaises with the design consultant and construction team to ensure estimates reflect all required costs on projects and reflect design / project scope
  • Advise on local market rates for plant, labour and materials
  • Work closely with the cost consultants to understand construction costs and implications on the Construction Budget and Project Design / Scope
  • Review tender documentation and support the tender process
  • Review / perform checks on Bills of Quantities / Scope of Works
  • Review contract sum proposals against design / project scope
  • Coordinate monthly payment processes / valuations
  • Review and monitor project cash flow forecasts
  • Manage, record and negotiate contract variations / COs
  • Be the daily interface for cost related matters and assist where necessary with site measurements, photo records, changes etc.
  • Provide advice to project staff on commercial and contractual processes
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders
  • Utilize software to calculate, record and track inventory and estimates

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • BSc. In Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Engineering, or related field.
  • PMP certification will be an asset.
  • Minimum five (5) years of construction estimating experience, financial experience, construction experience, or related field.
  • Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Procore will be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an In-depth understanding of construction materials, pricing and industry.
  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills and the ability to organize, plan and strategize.
  • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
  • A valid driver’s license
