The Quality Assurance Supervisor oversees daily QA operations, ensuring accurate and timely sensory and analytical testing in line with the Quality Manual, while maintaining compliance, managing quality data and reports, and driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

   JOB SPECIFICATION/COMPETENCIES [Minimum]

  • Supervise and schedule Quality Assurance Technicians to support effective production monitoring and quality checks
  • Oversee daily operations of the Quality Assurance Department and ensure compliance with SOPs
  • Manage plant sensory programme and serve as Bottler Sensory Lead (BSL)
  • Ensure all required analytical tests are performed accurately and on schedule
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage QA reports, records, and documentation for compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement in laboratory performance and consistency in operations
  • Investigate non-conformities and out-of-spec production; lead root cause and corrective actions
  • Support Food Safety and regulatory programs (HACCP, ISO 22000, Health & Safety)
  • Collaborate with management to set QA goals and improve processes
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, supporting performance and compliance standards
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures for Food Safety, Environmental, Health & Safety
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or an equivalent field
  • Minimum three (3) years Quality Assurance experience, two (2) of which should be at supervisory level
  • Sound knowledge of a Quality Management System would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal including the preparation of reports with the ability to communicate with varying staff levels
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office productivity tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Programming skills would be considered an asset
  • Excellent analytical, presentation and time management skills
  • Meticulous, with the ability to work on own initiative within a demanding environment
  • Possess a good understanding of all applicable Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety laws and regulations
  • Demonstrable knowledge of pertinent food safety requirements, safety and environment plant hazards
