QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER (Portland)

KEY COMPETENCES & REQUIREMENTS

• Tertiary Degree in Microbiology / Chemistry/ Biochemistry / Food Chemistry or related area.
• One year’s experience in a similar capacity or working in a food manufacturing environment.

• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
• Training in ISO 9000/ FSSC 22000, GMP and HACCP.
• Able to work on shifts and on weekends as needed.

• Must be meticulous, have excellent organizational, and analytical skills.
• Excellent Communication skills (written and oral), including writing of reports
• Able to conduct research/investigations on own initiative
• Able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Maintenance of regulatory and third-party food safety licenses and certificates
• Audit the production process to identify and reduce variation and initiate corrective actions.
• Conduct product chemical, physical and sensory analysis of raw materials, packaging materials and finished products
• Conduct intra-department training to ensure competency in quality checks and compliance with established Food Safety Management System protocols.
• Function as a member of the Food Safety Team in establishing and maintaining the company’s food safety systems.
• Participate in internal audits of the Food Safety Management System
• Prepare and maintain accurate quality records
