Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a QA QC lead for our Point Fortin office with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry

Overview / Responsibilites

 

The QA/QC Team Lead - Atlantic is responsible for participating in the delivery of a quality service that achieves the requirements of the client and complies with the relevant international/national codes and standards. The incumbent is expected to work closely with the Quality personnel to ensure that Massy WG’s management system is adhered to, and those services and products supplied to Massy WG are done so in compliance with client, industry and company requirements

 

  • Promote the awareness of quality principles and concepts, promoting the review and challenge of working practices and methods to enhance performance;
  • Evaluate through Internal Audit program the compliances of Engineering, Procurement and Construction Departments where necessary.
  • Responsible for implementation of project QA plan, and all other related Quality documents during Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases
  • Assists all team Leaders to improve and identify areas of improvement of all stated process works.
  • Monitoring of the approval, distribution and revision of procedures, Process Plans  and Work / Operations Procedures for the overall activities. 
  • Ensures that Quality Plans and ITP’s are fulfilled for all projects
  • Review and approve product/material requisitions and validate quality control and certification requirements;
  • Assign and coordinate product/material inspection activities in accordance to the specifications set out in purchase orders, datasheets, drawings and client specifications/ requirements, Inspection & Test plans;
  • Coordinate third party vendor inspection visits, review and distribution of inspection reports;
  • Review and validation of quality control activities to verify product/service meets stipulated requirements;
  • Monitors implementation of corrective actions in response to the identification of nonconforming products/services through QA/QC Audits or otherwise, until the unsatisfactory condition has been rectified.
  • Assist with the implementation of Corporate Internal Audits and Subcontractors audits.
  • Manage Quality Surveillances Programs internally/externally
  • Review and coordinate with all Field Supervisors and Inspectors the correct reporting of all Construction projects, with reference to applicable codes and standards/procedures.
  • Attend weekly/monthly operations and Team leads meetings to ensure QA/QC input.
  • Interacting with the client Quality representatives in order to be the quality focal point to address Quality topics.
  • Review work procedures and method statements for compliance with good work practices and the customers contract specializations.
  • Liaises with the Organization Team Leaders in the coordination of all Internal Quality Audits as per approved schedule.
  • Manages relationship with subcontracted companies to ensure compliance between subcontracted services and MW/Client best practices.
  • Liaises with HSSE representatives (internal, client & external) to encourage the Safety Performance and safe behaviour, ensure inherent compliance of maintenance documentation with Company and  Client’s safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Certification in Construction, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from a recognised institution
  • Certification/Training in Quality (must be based on ISO 9001 :) from a recognized institution.  (For example CQE, CQA, CQT or CQI)
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with AWS, or CSWIP
  • Non-destructive Testing such as MT, PT, UT, and VT will be an asset.

 

Competencies & Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in managing quality systems in Oil & Gas or Energy
  • A working knowledge of Construction / Structural / Inspection codes and practices such as API 570, 620 and 650, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, API 1104, ASME Section V and IX. NACE standards, ISO 8501 & SSPC Systems
  • Qualified as stated in ISO-19011 and competent in the discipline being audited, familiar with Quality System standards and be able to exercise judgment against the criteria of the standards.
  • Shall demonstrate a working a thorough knowledge and proven ability of all phases and types of critical coating applications, methods, and recognized industry standards.
  • Shall have a demonstrated knowledge, training and good judgment against  
  • the criteria of ISO-9000 Series International Standards, or equivalent.
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
  • Ability to work effectively, safely and prioritize in a high performance, fast-paced work environment.
  • Inspires and motivates others to work well and accepts feedback.
  • Seeks ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Excellent computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office
  • Police Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months)
