Purchasing Manager

To manage the Purchasing Team efficiently and effectively and collaborate with both the commercial and supply chain teams to ensure optimum stock management to ensure that all company profitability targets are met.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Oversee the functions, deliverables and development of the Purchasing Department in alignment with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Enforce collaboration with commercial teams and other stakeholders to ensure stock availability and forecast future demand based on marketing plans
• Plan, manage and coordinate all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of inventory needed to meet the changing levels of product demand
• Develop and maintain detailed inventory reports especially as it relates to top revenue earning products to guide or identify risks if any to revenue line.
• Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggest improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company
• Collaborate with the Logistics Department and the warehouse teams to prioritize shipments based on commercial needs
• Monitor, identify and ensure implementation of actions needed to minimize stock obsolescence
• Identify slow moving SKUs for product line rationalization
• Support the commercial teams in new business development including but not limited to value chain analysis to ensure accurate evaluation of products/lines and liaise with the Logistics Team to ensure all permits and documentation are clearly identified prior to importation
• Leads the Purchasing Department in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators
• Maintain purchasing target trackers for key suppliers and provide analysis when needed for supplier reviews
• Evaluate vendor capability, reliability and risk effectively to ensure continuous supply
• Maintain and build supplier relationships
• Ensuring adherence to the company’s policies and procedures
• Assist in other areas of work based on the needs of the department and any other area as necessary in support of Company activities.
• All responsibilities and accountabilities must be executed in accordance with the company’s Customer Service Management System (CSMS), Quality, Health and Safety Environment (HSE) and Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) policies and practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position or field
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
