GCG Catering MBJ is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement function. This role is vital to ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of high-quality goods and services that meet our industry’s strict safety and service standards.

GCG Catering Jamaica is a member of the GCG Group which operates in 21 countries across the US, Caribbean, Central and South America. We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join the team in the capacity of Purchasing Manager at our Montego Bay location.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that support the company’s overall objectives, with a strong focus on reliability, cost-efficiency, and compliance.

  • Continuously assess procurement trends and market changes to optimize sourcing decisions and identify potential risks.

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify vendors for food, packaging, equipment, and operational supplies.

  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent service and product quality.

  • Work closely with culinary, operations, and inventory control teams to project procurement needs based on flight schedules, menu planning, and seasonal fluctuations.

  • Serve as the key liaison between Procurement and departments such as Production, Finance, Warehouse, and Logistics to ensure alignment of procurement efforts with operational goals.

  • Evaluate price fluctuations and develop contingency plans to mitigate financial impact.

  • Ensure all purchased items meet food safety, health, and hygiene regulations, including local and international aviation catering standards.

ACADEMIC & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in food service, hospitality, or aviation industries.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple departments effectively.

  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiations, budgeting, and contract management.
