The responsibilities for this position include overseeing the purchasing and receiving function for the hotel, as well as ensure meeting specified guidelines and policies. This person will show effective leadership by promoting engagement and increasing efficiency.

The responsibilities for this position include overseeing the purchasing and receiving function for the hotel, as well as ensure meeting specified guidelines and policies.  This person will show effective leadership by promoting engagement and increasing efficiency.  He/she will manage a "Purchase to Pay" operation, negotiate with vendors, liaise with overseas suppliers, and work with custom brokers.  This person will also control and manage inventory while ensuring accuracy of accruals at month end close.

  Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to the unique needs of the hotel, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality standards are maintained. 
  • Foster strong partnerships with hospitality-focused suppliers and vendors, leveraging these relationships to negotiate favourable terms and secure competitive pricing for goods and services.
  • Implement efficient inventory management practices to optimize stock levels of essential items, minimizing waste while ensuring uninterrupted supply to meet guest demands.
  • Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, from requisition to delivery, and manage Procure to Pay with meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with budgetary constraints and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor and analyse purchasing data and metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and generate insights to support strategic decision-making and budget/forecast planning processes.
  • Maintaining finance and accounting goals by submitting the reports in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the overall hygiene, proper storage, and cleanliness of storerooms according to hotel and global Hyatt standards.
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others.
  • Any other tasks assigned by Director of Finance.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field
  • 8 years progressive purchasing/ supply chain experience with a minimum of two years at management level. Hotel experience is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of Procurement software such as birchstreet, materials control and other inventory management systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
  • Analytical mind with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Be deadline and detail oriented and work well under pressure
