PURCHASING & LOGISTICS ASSISTANT VACANCY

China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of Purchasing & Logistics Assistant for the Montego Bay Perimeter Road. 

Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising all technical aspects of the inventory required for the construction project. 

Responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to: 

• Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehousing and transportation of all purchases for the project
• Source the most cost-effective and appropriate material and equipment for the project
• Establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases
• Oversee the inventory management system
• Coordinate the procurement schedule with the Project Manager
• Prepare detailed reports on inventory levels and supply chain progress
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce cost 

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or other related discipline
• 3-5 years’ experience in logistics and inventory management operations
• Knowledge of the construction industry and materials used on site
• Ability to read engineering drawings is an asset
• Strong Analytical, communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-moving and culturally diverse environment
• Must possess a valid drivers license
