Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Project and Factory Manager with a strong engineering background to lead the development of our new production facility. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of carbonated beverages and spirits, along with proven experience managing bottling and canning operations. This role will oversee the full project lifecycle—from initial design through to factory build-out, equipment installation, and commissioning. Responsibilities include leading the recruitment of key personnel, implementing robust HACCP protocols, developing efficient operational workflows, ensuring site security, and managing project budgets and timelines. The successful candidate will be a proactive communicator, keeping all stakeholders informed throughout the process while ensuring the project is delivered on time and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
Be a key member of the team, developing each project phase from planning and construction through to procurement, resource coordination, and third-party engagement. Oversee the factory fit-out, ensure equipment is fully operational, lead staff recruitment, and implement rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) processes – while maintaining consistent site security throughout all stages.
1. Develop project plans, timelines and budgets for each stage in collaboration with the stakeholders and allocate resources.
2. Coordinate with third party suppliers and contractors to ensure deadlines are planned in line with the build and are achieved.
3. Monitor and report project progress, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise throughout the project’s lifecycle and ensure timely delivery within budgets.
4. Ensure factory achieves all government approvals (including HACCP certification) and complies with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
5. Document and implement effective ways of working at all times and achieve brand quality as per brands standard agreements.
6. Optimise factory operations to ensure production targets are achieve and operational efficiencies reported whilst fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous operational improvement.
7. Recruitment and management of operational staff, providing effective training, leadership, motivation to all staff members.
8. Set up and maintain Health & Safety ways of working and process. Effectively report and monitor as per industry and government standards.
9. Collaboration with local suppliers, vendors and all external partners to source materials, equipment and services needed for implementation of project.
10. Lead and manage the team effectively.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
· Certificate in project management.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on a similar project and previous factory management roles within the alcohol industry and managing liquid blending, bottling and canning equipment.
· Strong technical skills with bottling and canning lines.
· Excellent leadership, communication and software skills for planning, scheduling and tracking projects.
· Experience of implementing and maintaining HACCP/BRC/QA equivalent processes.
· Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
· Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed to meet project requirements.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and capable of tackling on-site issues and mechanical failures. Leading from the front.
