The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) invites applications from qualified, dynamic professionals for the position of Project Implementation Manager (PIM) within the newly established UCC AI Task Force.
This is a pivotal role for a forward-thinking leader who will help operationalize UCC’s AI transformation strategy across all campuses and units - ensuring faculty, staff, and students benefit from cutting-edge, responsible AI integration.
Position Overview
The AI Project Implementation Manager will lead the day-to-day coordination, and hands-on execution of AI project initiatives across the University. The successful candidate will work directly with all academic and administrative departments to drive implementation, build capacity, and support the rollout of new AI-enabled tools, systems, and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute detailed project implementation plans for all approved AI initiatives (business operations, marketing & sales, teaching & learning, corporate education).
- Lead & conduct AI readiness assessments, mapping current capabilities and identifying gaps in infrastructure, skills, policy, and processes.
- Serve as the liaison across university units for needs identification, solution design, and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate pilots, technical enablement, and integration of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Zapier, Microsoft Copilot and Moodle AI Suite inter alia.
- Lead onboarding, training, workshops, and university-wide upskilling for staff, faculty, and students.
- Identify “quick wins,” automations, and workflows that deliver immediate value and encourage adoption.
- Build and maintain a centralized tracker or dashboard to monitor milestones, risks, KPIs, and outcomes.
- Measure adoption rates, productivity improvements, user satisfaction, and support trends.
- Analyze feedback, troubleshoot implementation challenges, and drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare and deliver progress reports for the AI Task Force, Executive Team, and Board.
- Ensure compliance with UCC’s data, privacy, cybersecurity, and governance frameworks.
- Partner with vendors and internal champions to position UCC as a regional leader in responsible AI-enabled education.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (Project Management, IT, Business, Education, or related field).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, digital transformation, or systems implementation.
- PMP, Agile, or related certification as an asset.
- Demonstrated experience rolling out digital tools or innovation across a medium-to-large organization (ideally education).
- Working knowledge of AI technologies, Microsoft 365, AWS, Moodle, and enterprise integration.
- Strong skills in change management, training, analytics, and user adoption.
Term
Full-time, part-time, or contract options available.
Daily or at least periodic on-campus engagement required.
Reports directly to the Task Force Chairman & deputy president & indirectly to the president, with regular updates to the Group Executive Chairman.
