The Project Engineer (Project Planning Division) is responsible for providing support relating to the Engineering Design/Drawings and the Initiation, Planning, Executing, Monitoring/Control and Close Out of all portfolio projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Engineering Design/Drawings

  • Review all plans and designs and ensure that they are accurate.
  • Research building codes, materials and any other information that is required for the successful execution of the project.
  • To prepare engineering drawings as required.
  • Manage the supply of drafting material.
  • Respond to all technical queries Internally and from the Approval Agencies.
  • Provide Technical Support to the Project Management and Estimating Teams.

Assist in Development and Construction Planning

  • Assist with the preparation of the required project documents. This will include but not limited to Stakeholders Plan, Project Brief, Project Charter, Project Management Plans including the Project Budgets and Schedules

Assist with Project Procurement Management

  • Assist with the preparation of project Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) or Request for Proposals (RFP’s) to solicit vender/contractor/consultant responses.
  • Assist with the proposal evaluation and selection process.
  • Assist with the preparation and management of Consultancy and/or Service Contracts.
  • Assist with the preparation of Payment Certificates from approved submitted claims.

 Carry Out Field Inspections

  • Carry out periodic inspections of the project to ensure that design and quality requirements are complied with; and schedules are followed.
  • Assist in the evaluation and solution of potential field problems and referring them to the  Project Manager.

 Manage/Track Paperwork and Distribution of Information

  • Organize project paperwork ensuring that Project Drawings, Status Reports, Minutes, Schedules, Change Order Registers and Issue Logs, etc. are kept up to date and filed away for easy access.
  • Assist with the distribution of all relevant information to the Project Stakeholders.
  • Manage the storage and archive of drawings for past developments.
  • Manage Data in Sales Simplicity Software
  • Utilize Project Management Software to manage projects, people and processes

 Assist the Construction Team as needed

  • Supervise and maintain account of carpentry and masonry works.
  • Oversee and report on infrastructure works, namely sewer, storm drain, water and road construction.
  • Supervise the system building to ensure correct placement and testing of services, such as reinforcement, electrics, plumbing, etc.
  • Enforce the quality and internal controls governing all the above mentioned areas of works.
  • Conduct and/or supervise and record all required testing procedures and their results for all activities so warranting onsite
  • Assist with Preparation of Construction Schedules

 EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ of Engineering/Project Management related experience
