Production Supervisor

A leading food manufacturing company located in Manchester is seeking a Production Supervisor to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production operations and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate production staff to ensure daily operations run efficiently and production targets are consistently achieved.

  • Monitor all production processes to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

  • Enforce strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all relevant food safety regulations.

  • Manage production schedules, overtime planning, workflow optimization, and waste reduction strategies.

  • Maintain accurate and compliant production records, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and batch documentation.

  • Develop and implement new production documentation and reporting systems as needed.

  • Train new production staff and coordinate ongoing refresher training programs.

  • Collaborate with other department leads to identify and resolve operational issues.

  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational waste.

  • Report directly to senior management and contribute to strategic production planning.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory role within a food manufacturing or related production environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of Food Safety & Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP).

  • Familiarity with Good Production Practices (GPP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

  • Proficient in managing both paper-based and digital document control systems.

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • A collaborative team player with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
