Production Manager- Aluminium Fabrication unit


The role will be reporting directly into the Executive Director and will involve planning and organizing the manufacture of a wide range of fabricated products in Aluminium like Windows, Doors, furniture etc.

 

This will include managing suppliers and stock-levels, scheduling work, problem solving, managing a dedicated team of fabricators, quality control and Health and Safety.

Your role will be to ensure that all orders are made on time, to specification and to a high standard, in a safe, efficient and controlled manner. You will need to have a thorough technical understanding of windows, doors, furniture and fenestration products and will need to be able to read, understand and interpret technical manuals and construction drawings.

 

-Previous fabricating experience and a knowledge of CNC machinery, along with a good understanding of modern manufacturing processes will be required.

-The purpose of this role is to provide effective leadership and management of people and work processes, using a quality assured led approach to support the factory’s manufacturing activity.

-Able to demonstrate excellent organizational and planning skills and should enjoy taking a hands-on approach.

-Contribute heavily to the company’s culture of continuous improvement and they will play a significant role in shaping the future of the business.

-Ensure that the company’s Quality Objectives are effectively communicated and understood by the team.

-Ensure the wider Management team obtains feedback about how to improve the Standard of Procedures ’s & the Quality Management Systems. Ensure that non-conformance issues are reported, costed and acted upon.


-Provide Key Performance Indicators reporting information to support productivity measurement. Assist with the monitoring and implementation of preventative actions in support of continuous improvement

-Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for safety, production and quality standards, working closely with CI Managers and CI and Safety Teams.

-Controls and minimizes labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.


-Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment; replaces, or submits requests for adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary and as needed measures.

-Performance & Productivity Take the lead responsibility for achieving the designated production schedule including the management of the factory production targets. Maximise performance and efficiencies within the team – this includes steering, guiding & controlling the management of labour, plant utilisation, wastage, quality, house-keeping and basic health and safety.

I-mplements cost effective systems of control over operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries, and manages capital asset/improvement projects.

-Oversees the implementation of safety and preventative maintenance programs, incorporating and driving safety procedures and plant cleanliness as a priority.

-Incorporates shop floor organization with applicable Process Engineering personnel, to ensure production processes are fluid, efficient, and effective.

-Provides leadership and training to accomplish corporate goals/objectives/KPI’s.

-Provides direction, development and leadership to managerial personnel.

-Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective actions as necessary and in a timely manner, in accordance with company policy. Consults with Human Resources, Legal and/or Corporate offices as needed on same.

-Trouble shoot and problem solve immediate or unexpected issues within agreed capabilities.

 

Requirements

- Previous supervisory experience within a manufacturing setting.

-LEAN manufacturing and/or production process experience a must

-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing related schematics.

-Fundamental knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include corporate personnel and managers, major customer and rank and file plant personnel.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization

-Strong business sense and industry expertise

-Flexibility, cover additional hours as required
