The Production Accounting Clerk will be responsible for maintaining operational records to include production, yields, sales, utilities, cost and variance analysis.

Production Accounting Clerk 

The Production Accounting Clerk will be responsible for maintaining operational records to include production, yields, sales, utilities, cost and variance analysis, as well as, ensuring the company’s finished goods, raw materials, spare parts, assets, etc. are accurately accounted for.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  •  Maintains records and reports on activity performance, cost, revenue and profitability.
  • Monitor, inspect map, trend, analyze and audit layers production, processing throughput, egg packaging and egg inventory, vouching cost/expense/custodianship/accountability/accuracy/completeness, vetting documentation, and records.
  • Manage the purchasing process for assigned inventory (packaging, feed, layer medication and inputs, etc.) to include receiving quotations, generating requisitions goods-received-notes (GRNs), ensuring timeliness and adequacy of supplies and completeness of process.
  • Payable management: ensuring that invoices have the requisite supporting documentation (POs, GRNs) and are duly approved and submitted to the Field Office and Group Payables on a timely basis. 
  • Manage petty cash float, ensuring due process, adherence to protocols and effective management preventing/minimizing cash-out 
  • Conduct and/or participate in monthly/weekly and ad hoc inventory counts; investigating and reporting on variances and anomalies, updating the requisite systems/programs (e.g. ROSS). 
  • Effectively maintain physical and system inventory warehouse(s) ensuring accuracy, adequacy and effective documentation of inventoried items. 
  • Generating and circulating standard and special reports and analysis as directed.
  • Carry out and report-on audits of processes (layer performance, inventory reconciliation, etc.) as directed and/or warranted. 
  • Investigate and report-on anomalies as well as research areas as directed. · Participate in the maintenance of certifications, standards and protocols such as ISO 9001:2008, HACCP, Codex, Quality Management, IFRS, IAS and other procedures and protocols established/adopted by the Company. 
  • Monitoring and evaluation of systems, protocols and procedures for continued relevance, value and effectiveness, researching and recommending areas for improvements. 
  • Participation in weekly field production meetings. 
  • Participation in the annual budget exercise. 
  • Carry out general accounting duties or any other related assigned duties.



Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Degree in Accounting and/or CAT Level 2 and/or ACCA Level 1 and/or Accounting Diploma plus 3 CXC subjects incl. Mathematics & Accounting
  • 1+ year experience in similar capacity 
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel
  • High numeric and literary skills 
  • Trainable & adaptable 
  • Meticulous
  • Must be based in St. Ann
