Procurement and Logistics Manager

Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Management:
- Develop and implement warehouse policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure smooth operations and maximize efficiency.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, including receiving, inspecting, and storing goods, as well as conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and accurate stock replenishment.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize storage capacity and facilitate efficient handling.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
Inventory Control:
- Implement inventory management systems to accurately track inventory levels, locations, and movement.
- Develop and maintain inventory control procedures, including regular stock audits, identifying obsolete or excess stock, and implementing appropriate actions to optimize inventory turnover.
- Analyze inventory data, such as demand patterns and stock availability, to forecast future inventory requirements and avoid Shipment stockouts or overstock situations.
Logistics and Coordination:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with customs regulations, and timely delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with transportation providers to optimize freight costs, select appropriate carriers, and track shipments.
- Liaise with customer service or sales teams to prioritize and expedite order fulfillment and resolve any shipping-related issues or customer complaints.
- Manage the return and reverse logistics process, including handling customer returns, coordinating with suppliers for defective or damaged goods, and ensuring proper disposition of returned products.
Team Supervision and Development:
- Lead and supervise procurement/logistics & warehouse staff, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Schedule and assign tasks to personnel, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet operational demands.
- Provide guidance and coaching to employees on processes, safety procedures, and performance improvement.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and accuracy.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate regular reports on procurement, warehouse & and logistics performance metrics, such as inventory accuracy, PO completion/accuracy & and updates, fulfillment rates, warehouse capacity utilization, and labour productivity.
- Analyze data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with management and other stakeholders to develop and monitor budgets, control costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement and logistics roles, with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing teams and operations.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify process efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
- Proficiency in relevant procurement and logistics software and tools.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments.
