We’re hiring for the positions of Procurement Specialist/Buyer. This role will support operations at our Clarendon Combined Heat and Power (CCHP) facility, Old Harbour Plant (OHP), and Montego Bay Terminal.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role isresponsible for executing the full scope of supply chain management procurement functions. This includes direct oversight of procurement activities, supporting local vendor onboarding, and ensuring the local implementation of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process in alignment with corporate standards. The responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist/Buyer will include:

  • Ensuring full implementation and enforcement with the companies supply chain policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Initiating and supporting the timely onboarding of vendors in accordance with the companies Vendor Management protocols.
  • Executing the local Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process in alignment with corporate and local procedures and operational requirements.
  • Leading Requests For Quotation (RFQ) processes and conducting vendor negotiations to optimize cost, lead time, quality, and risk exposure.
  • Managing the end-to-end purchasing cycle, including creation, issuance, and resolution of purchase orders.
  • Evaluating vendor performance on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitoring the local market to identify, assess, and recommend vendors that support operational and business objectives.
  • Collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders to establish and maintain Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and pricing agreements.
  • Supporting the development of local SOPs and work practices to streamline procurement processes and educating internal and external stakeholders on the P2P process.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field. Other relevant certifications in Supply Chain Management and Procurement can be advantageous.
  • Strong MS Office skills with Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Word.
  • Sound understanding of INCOTERMS.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Understanding and proficient in negotiation activities.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain, preferably in power/gas industry.
  • Innate ability to identify issues and craft effective solutions quickly.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams, showcasing leadership qualities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exemplary interpersonal aptitudes, with a talent for building and nurturing relationships at all organizational levels.
  • An inherent team spirit and a deep-rooted customer service orientation.
  • Experience in or familiarity with power plant operations is preferred.
