Procurement Business Services Associate

Overview:

KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named “Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)” operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide back-office support to its member firm KPMG United States (“the Client”).  The Clients’ function is expanding operations at JESS to support multiple processes.  Team members within the delivery center work with Client’s stakeholders under a team extension model to support Client’s back-office operations.

The Clients’ Procurement process area performs tasks related to Strategic Sourcing.

JOB SUMMARY: 
The JESS Associate will be responsible for facilitating the negotiation and execution of procurement-related contract within the Business Services category. This includes, but is not limited to Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Speaker Agreements, and Instructor Agreements.  Operationally, the role has the responsibility for performing due diligence, including but not limited to sourcing, negotiations, contracting and vendor management processes.  A successful candidate will collaborate and deliver results in conjunction with various departments across the firm including legal, compliance and risk mitigation departments to ensure adherence with respective policies and contractual terms.

The JESS Procurement Associate reports primarily to the JESS Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Assistant Manager, but will also take direction from other Manager, Client and team members who are accountable for supported work.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Delivery

  • Lead complex negotiations with suppliers
  • ​Facilitate the execution of contractual documents
  • ​Contribute to and execute category strategies within the Business Services team
  • ​Work closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance to Firm policies and standards throughout the contracting process
  • ​Support supplier diversity and sustainability goals
  • ​Work with legal to negotiate proper representation and enforcement of critical terms and conditions during the contracting process 
  • ​Develop meaningful internal stakeholder relationships to implement and drive procurement strategy and policies

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:



Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Equivalent Professional Accreditation
  • ​Three or more years of relevant work experience 
  • ​Working knowledge of negotiating and mitigating contractual issues 
  • ​Advanced proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

    Technical
  • Working knowledge of Business Services processes and controls and ability to coordinate with respective stakeholder groups and compliance functions 
  • ​Strong written / verbal communication, and interpersonal skills 
  • ​Strong prioritization skills and ability to manage issues to resolution
  • ​Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to execute on multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • ​Demonstrated analytical, financial, problem solving, organization, and project management skills
  • ​Demonstrated ability to work through complex problems and present solutions
  • ​Exposure to processing various contractual agreements

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

  • JESS uses a hybrid work model, allowing staff to work from home in Jamaica or in the office. Employees must be in the office at least five days per month, with more days possible if required by business needs.
  • You are expected to use KPMG-approved Generative AI tools to support your daily work tasks.
  • ​Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities.
  • ​May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays.
