Process Engineering Assistant

Job Overview:

The Process Engineering Assistant will play a key role in supporting plant operations through data management, documentation, and audit preparation. This plant-based role requires close collaboration with Operators, Shift Supervisors, and Managers, and involves active engagement with production activities, on-site troubleshooting, and real-time process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support audit preparation efforts, including Insurance and IMS audits.
  • Maintain both physical and digital filing systems.
  • Respond to emails and digital correspondence.
  • Draft and edit letters, reports, and other documentation.
  • Input, manipulate, and update data in spreadsheets, databases, and other formats.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and take minutes.
  • Conduct research and compile summaries for reports and presentations.
  • Track task progress, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Attend meetings and perform assigned duties.
  • Develop and maintain systems for managing and reporting departmental internal audits.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong digital literacy and research capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Accurate data entry and record-keeping skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Professional office and phone etiquette.
  • Ability to manage conflict and work under pressure.
  • Proactive problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical & Process Engineering.
  • Solid foundation in process engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, safety, and environmental engineering.
  • Experience or familiarity with:
    • P&IDs and technical documentation
    • Engineering drawings
    • SharePoint
    • Production reporting
    • Presentation development

Work Environment:

  • Requires use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for movement between plant sites.
  • Involves direct interaction with production teams and plant operations.
  • Familiarity with 24/7 shift operations, including weekends and public holidays, is beneficial.
