The Privacy Officer and Statutory DPO Representative supports the Head of Privacy and Privacy Manager in managing privacy compliance, regulatory obligations, and privacy risk activities for Jamaica.
Role Summary
The Privacy Officer and Statutory DPO Representative supports the Head of Privacy and Privacy Manager in managing privacy compliance, regulatory obligations, and privacy risk activities for Jamaica. The role maintains core privacy trackers and documentation, coordinates stakeholder engagement, and supports the execution of DPIAs, TPRAs, PIAs,
and privacy incident management. The position also ensures timely reporting across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles, supports policy reviews, legislative monitoring, training, awareness initiatives, and maintains Jamaica OpCo’s Data Controller registration.
Key Accountabilities
• Support DPIAs, TPRAs, PIAs, and privacy incident containment activities.
• Update and maintain privacy trackers and databases, including CIRA, TPRA, PIA, DPIA, and Incident Trackers.
• Prepare, submit, and track monthly, quarterly, and annual privacy and regulatory reports.
• Assist with policy reviews, advisory requests, and updates to SCCs in contracts.
• Develop and disseminate privacy training materials and support privacy awareness initiatives.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update the Legal Obligations Matrix.
• Conduct gap analyses and support risk and compliance assessments.
• Maintain documentation on SharePoint and ensure accuracy of privacy inventories.
• Support annual registration of Jamaica OpCo as a Data Controller.
• Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of privacy legislation, including the Jamaica Data Protection Act and global privacy standards.
• Understanding of data protection assessments, incident response, and regulatory reporting.
• Familiarity with corporate governance, operational risk, and audit processes.
• Knowledge of third-party risk and vendor oversight.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in regulatory documentation.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and tracking tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related
field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in privacy, compliance, regulatory, or risk roles.
• Professional privacy certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT) preferred.
