 Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Insurance Operation Services team in the capacity of:

Pre-Underwriting Associate

Process and settle Coupon, Ordinary Life applications, Individual Health applications as well as process contractual changes, reopening of files and purging of stale-dated medicals.

Location: Kingston

As a Pre-Underwriting Associate, you will:

• Process and settle Coupon and Ordinary Life applications, Individual Health applications, contractual changes and reopening of files.
• Maintain and follow-up pending files.
• Update the shared drive report on a daily basis and prepare productivity reports on an ongoing basis in accordance with the stipulated guidelines.
• Purge stale-dated medicals/lab reports.
• Test changes and modifications to the computer systems employed by Sagicor Life of Jamaica and Sagicor Life of the Cayman Islands.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Completion of LOMA Parts 1 & 2.
• At least two (2) years’ working experience in a life insurance company or related entity.
• Sound knowledge of life insurance operations.
• Basic understanding of marketing concepts.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Good time management and human relations skills.
• Sound knowledge of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
