In-Home Practical Nurse/Aide: Deliver patient-centered care in the home, including ADL support, vital monitoring, pain and symptom management, medication administration, basic wound care, infection control, and documentation. Oncology care experience is considered an asset.

 Practical Nurse – In-Home Support

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practical Nurse/LPN to provide high-quality in-home patient care and support in Montego Bay. This full-time position, scheduled Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., includes assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring patient health, administering prescribed care, and offering emotional support to both patients and their families. Prior experience in caring for cancer patients will be considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide in-home nursing care in alignment with physician and RN directives.
• Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including mobility, hygiene, and nutrition.
• Monitor and record vital signs, health status, and any changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including symptom and pain management.
• Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients and families.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable home care environment.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and family caregivers to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Heart/NSTA Trust Certification or Ministry of Health Care Certification (required).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in patient care (home health, clinical, or hospital).
• Prior experience in cancer patient care is a strong asset.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
