The Power Generation Operator has responsibility for facilitating the provision of Electrical Power and other energy requirements to the WISYNCO White Marl and Lakes Pen facilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate the Power Plant equipment in keeping with manufacturer’s recommendations and required parameters
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) on all equipment associated with the plant at the scheduled times
  • Operate and maintain standby generator
  • Ensure that the Photovoltaic Generation system is operational at all times
  • Execute Preventive Maintenance on Photovoltaic Power Generating system at the scheduled times
  • Keep accurate logs of all required operating data
  • Submit reports at required intervals as directed
  • Ensure that Safety policies are adhered to all times
  • Support the Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems and the Environmental Management Systems standards respectively particularly in the areas of Electrical and Mechanical Safety
  • Maintain spare parts and keep them organized
  • Any other duties as may be assigned within the scope of the job

JOB SPECIFICATION/COMPETENCIES [Minimum]

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or two (2) years’ experience in a related position
  • Extensive troubleshooting experience
  • Effective communication skills – written and verbal including the preparation of reports with the ability to articulate technical information with great clarity
  • Trained in the use of MS Office productivity tools (Word, Excel)
  • Meticulous, with the ability to function well individually and on a team within a demanding work environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization and time management skills
