Pool Maintainer

Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the swimming pools, spas, water rides, fountains, and other water features. Ensures the work is carried out to the satisfaction and standards of the company and department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Make daily observations of swimming pools, spas, water rides, fountains and other water features, reporting any abnormalities or change to necessary Management personnel.
• Maintains all water features by daily scrubbing and vacuuming to include, but not limited to, structures, drains, skimmers, sculptures, sand and other pool surfaces.
• Responsible for the complete removal of stains, leaves, rubble, sand and all debris from assigned pools, fountains, and waterfalls daily.
• Checks, cleans, and maintains skimmers, weirs, gutters, grating and other water feature structures.
• Checks and cleans rides to maintain the established standards.
• Performs basic maintenance of pool cleaning equipment.
• Maintains and stores equipment in a neat and orderly manner and reports all equipment malfunctions to immediate supervisor.
• Works with a variety of chemicals utilizing safe handling procedures.
• Maintains Water Quality records through daily logging of all chemical and mechanical data, daily work activities, and other operational standards.
• Stays current in all required environmental, safety and health related training.
• Maintains a safe, clean, hygienic and tidy work environment at all times.
• Continuous personal and professional development must be maintained.
• Acquire basic knowledge in pool maintenance through participation, listening, observation, and learning resources provided.
• Interacts with guests by providing courteous and professional information.
• Develop a professional approach to the career and function as a team member showing consideration, tolerance, cooperation, reliability and the ability to accept constructive criticism.
• Performs all reasonable duties related to Water Quality and guest needs as requested by management and as the department requires regardless of time, day or location.
• Responsible for understanding and applying all information contained in SOP's and department manuals.
• Perform other reasonable duties required by management.
• Performs physically demanding work involving walking long distances, bending, lifting and climbing in various weather conditions.
• Report for duty at scheduled times and in proper uniform. Must be available for any shift necessary.
• Maintain a sound knowledge of the Company's facilities and related services.
• The Company operates a twenty-four (24) hour business. Therefore, you may be rostered to work shifts, which may change from time to time.

• Display the highest standards of customer service at all times, welcoming customers in a polite, gracious and enthusiastic manner, paying attention at all times and anticipating and meeting their needs.
• Respond quickly and positively to guests' questions, requests, problems, and complaints and resolve them effectively and consistently.
• Maintain overall knowledge of the resort and provide proactive assistance to customers when appropriate using clear and concise conversation.
• Always smile and engage our guests first, using their name when appropriate and maintaining eye contact at all times.
• Demonstrate departmental knowledge and efficiency at all times.
• Stay well groomed, looking professional, clean and appropriately fitted in compliance with the company's standards.

• High school diploma or general education diploma.
• Must have a keen interest in working outdoors in varying weather conditions, both in and out of wet features and pools.
