The POS Technician will be responsible for programming, refurbishing and repairing POS devices to enable the delivery of quality service to our clients and their merchants.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking to recruit suitably qualified individuals for the role of Point of Sale (POS) Technician with MC Systems Limited.  The POS Technician will be responsibile for programming, refurbishing and repairing POS devices to enable the delivery of quality service to our clients and their merchants.  

CONTRACT TYPE:  FIXED-TERM

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Programme (key injection and application loading) POS devices and make ready for deployment ensuring compliance with established security standards and completion
  • Update the internal and/or external systems with details of each device programmed and any issues encountered
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and verifiy status of returned devices and package for return to client where applicable
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and refurbish/repair devices as requested by clients
  • Assist with providing technical support to Merchant Support Officers to resolve issues they encounter in the field
  • Assist with the training of new technicians
  • Assist with data entry, generating reports and other documents required from the Unit

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Information Technology or comparable discipline OR
  • At least five (5) CXC subjects plus vocational or technical certification in ICT/ electronic /electrical /mechanical or computer equipment from a recognized institution.

  • Good planning, organising and time management: Demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of tasks, prioritising as necessary while meeting deadlines and providing a high level of customer service.
  • Strong analytical skills: Able to line up clear sequence of actions, interpret data for further processing and understand cause-effect relationship for future performance improvement.
  • Communication: Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical information in clear and simple format.
